Our Team

At Whistling Wind Counseling and Therapy Services, we are proud to be home to a diverse, experienced, and deeply compassionate team of 44 highly trained therapists, Elders, and cultural helpers.

Our team brings together a powerful mix of clinical expertise, cultural knowledge, and lived experience. Each member is committed to walking alongside clients on their healing journey — with respect, care, and deep understanding.

Who We Are

Our therapists come from backgrounds in:

  • Clinical Social Work & Psychotherapy
  • Trauma-Informed Therapy & Addiction Counseling
  • Narrative Therapy & Identity Work
  • Justice-Informed and Crisis Intervention
  • Indigenous Healing Practices & Land-Based Therapy
  • Somatic Therapy & Experiential Approaches

From Master’s-level clinicians to Knowledge Keepers and frontline mentors, our team reflects the communities we serve — and the strength that comes from many ways of knowing.

Leadership in Action Therapy™

We are guided by experienced leaders who bring heart, wisdom, and clinical excellence to our work:

Billy is a youth-focused therapist with expertise in narrative therapy, addictions, and high-risk intervention. He helps our team integrate story-based, person-centered care that empowers individuals to reclaim their voice and strengths.

Mitch Bourbonniere

MSW, MSM, MB, OM, CMHA – Founder of Action Therapy™

Mitch is a long-time activist, mentor, and social worker who created the Action Therapy™ model. With over 30 years of experience supporting at-risk youth, he remains active in frontline work while mentoring our team in action-based, community-led healing.

Therapy That Reflects Real Life

Our team understands that healing doesn’t happen the same way for everyone. That’s why we offer therapy that is:

  • Culturally responsive
  • Trauma-informed
  • Community-based
  • Relational and real

Whether you’re meeting with a therapist, joining a group, or attending a land-based activity, you’ll be supported by someone who truly cares — and who’s committed to walking with you, not ahead of you.
